Tuesday night Mixed Ability Yoga at The Parochial Hall
I’ve been reflecting recently on how often I hear people comment that time flies by, they’re feeling stuck in certain situations, or haven’t got around to making that call, meeting that friend or finishing that course, piece of work or project. I’m aware of how often we can stuck in a rut or an out-dated cycle that just doesn’t serve our lives anymore, but can be difficult to get out of, even if that pattern or behaviour is not of any benefit, or maybe even harming our health and wellbeing. We often operate in life on autopilot, or we’re driven by habit or external expectations.
I wonder, do we actually make enough time to step back and look at our lives, to reflect on any of these things? Maybe work out what steps we need to take to make required changes? Is it possible to create some space, to harmonise our lifestyles to be of more benefit, both to ourselves and to others?
What does it take to live our lives more consciously ? To feel more joy, more energised, and experience life & relationships more fully, moment to moment…
Part of this refelection is the source that has recently inspired my new subscription: The Feminine Connection. It’s just in it’s early stages of creation with offerings such as: online classes, seasonal yoga practices, yoga nidra, discounts and perks on events and courses, weekly musings to inspire and explore… and this is just the beginning. At the moment, this subscription is open to women as much of the research and practices are designed to support women’s health, lifestyles and life cycles.
But let’s see how it grows.

THE FEMININE CONNECTION: The Launch of a New Subscription!

HEALTH & WELLNESS COLUMN
The fabulous nutritionist Sarah Grant features in this terms newsletter. Something that really inspired me when meeting with Sarah was her approach to her clients as a nutritionist. Our therapeutic methods are so in alignment - we were really surprised and could see how our work compliments the other.
As a Yoga Therapist and Yoga Teacher, I always enjoy meeting other therapists, listening to their approaches and often signposting clients to those that I feel may be able to support them. Sarah is definitely a the top of my list in recommendations. Read below to find out more about her…
Sarah Grant ~ Nutritional therapy Practitioner
Reconnecting with Food, Body and Self
by Sarah Grant
Struggling with food or body image? Nutritional Therapy Practitioner Sarah Grant offers insight, hope, and a refreshing approach to finding freedom with food - no diets required.
In my nutrition practice, I hold a core belief: everyone deserves to feel at home in their body and to experience a peaceful, trusting relationship with food - without guilt, obsession or shame.
Yet in today’s fast-paced culture, awash with conflicting messages about dieting, wellness and nutrition, I see too many people pouring their energy into food worries and overwhelm - often losing touch with what their bodies truly need, and sacrificing the joy of eating along the way.
My work supports those people struggling with emotional and disordered eating, helping them let go of unhelpful food rules, rebuild trust around food, and cultivate body respect.
The approach I take is holistic, blending personalised nutritional guidance with coaching, gentle education, emotional reflection, and body-based tools. It’s not another diet or set of rules - in fact, it’s the antidote to all of that.
My journey into this work began with my own struggles. Years of frustrating gut issues and IBS symptoms made food feel confusing and stressful, and left me feeling disconnected from my body. I came to realise that finding peace with food wasn’t only about what I was eating - although targeted nutrition and supplements played a role - but also about why and how I was eating.
Stress, sleep, emotional overload and self-criticism were all part of the picture. It was through a process of gut healing, self-awareness, and learning to meet myself with compassion that things really began to shift.
Over the past twelve years, I’ve trained as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, Intuitive Eating Counsellor, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy practitioner, blending these with body image coaching, and have supported hundreds of clients along the way.
People often come to me when they feel trapped in overwhelming or unhelpful patterns with food - overthinking every bite, eating to cope with emotions, or feeling stuck in cycles of guilt and body dissatisfaction. I help them rebuild a nourishing, trusting relationship with food - rooted in self-compassion and emotional wellbeing.
Clients frequently describe feeling relief, freedom, and a renewed sense of vitality - not only around food, but in life.
A quick tip? Instead of asking, “What should I eat?”, try asking, “What would truly nourish me right now?” Pause, and see what your gut is telling you...

Yoga Nidra For Deep Rest
My newly written and recorded Yoga Nidra for Deep Rest is now available (and free to those subscribed with The Feminine Connection). I wrote this on the back of so many people expressing their exhaustion, inability to sleep through the night, switch off from their busy minds or their struggle to relax.
Yoga Nidra is a practice that goes beyond a simple relaxation - it is a deeply healing tool and when practiced regularly, can have profound results. The practice, of course, will have different outcomes for everyone, however, most people that practice Yoga Nidra find that they sleep better, feel calmer, cope with day to day challenges with more ease and have an overall sense of simply feeling better. It can also be a brilliant practice for pain - speaking from personal experience. The practice begins with taking the time to position yourself to feel comfortable, to be supported and simply ensure that you’re warm enough/cool enough. Your whole environment is taken into consideration first. I found it really makes us stop and notice what we need before we settle into the practice. And once in the practice, it feels like a truly nourishing gift to the self!
